In the course of her work with prisoners Nenpan had the cause to intervene on behalf of a condemned (but reformed) prisoner. Nenpan wrote to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Da Jonah David Jang, asking for clemency for the condemned prisoner, who was sentenced to death by hanging after nine years of trial. Nenpan wrote and obtained the support of the then Prisons Controller Plateau State CP Agidi, the Deputy Controller and the then officer in charge of Prison Jos, and the then ACP Pankshin Prison, Paul Gomerep. She also mobilized the support of various stakeholders in the state for the cause. For years she followed up the matter with subsequent Prisons Controller of Plateau State. The matter is sadly still pending, but Nenpan is hopeful that justice will be tempered with mercy at the long run.
